VIGAN GROUP’S ENGAGEMENT IN THE 2024 FOREIGN MINISTERS’ MEETING

On October 1, 2024, Vigan Group, represented by CEO Arjodita Mustali, participated in the 10th meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Berlin Process, hosted by Germany’s Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. This significant event aimed to enhance regional cooperation among the Western Balkan countries and review the progress made over the past decade.

Advancements in Regional Collaboration

Over the past ten years, substantial steps have been taken to promote regional cooperation in the Western Balkans. Advances in connectivity and economic integration have been noteworthy, with progress made towards establishing a Common Regional Market. These initiatives aim to foster youth engagement and support reconciliation projects, essential for building trust and collaboration among neighboring countries.

Addressing Challenges Ahead

During the meeting, discussions highlighted these achievements while also acknowledging the challenges that remain. Resolving conflicts and strengthening neighborly relations are critical for building a cohesive future for the region. It was emphasized that despite the positive developments, impasses must still be overcome. The commitment to creating a shared vision for the future is paramount, with the ultimate goal of EU accession for the Western Balkans being a focal point of the discussions.

Highlighting the Voice of Women Entrepreneurs

A key theme of the meeting was the insights from the recent Gender Equality Forum, which aimed to integrate gender equity into the regional agenda. The main points emphasized the need to empower women in business and governance to drive economic growth.

During her speech, Arjodita Mustali emphasized the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in our region. She shed light on the barriers that limit opportunities for women, particularly those outside major urban areas. Bridging the gap in support and resources for female business leaders is essential for creating an inclusive economic environment. Fostering collaboration among stakeholders will ensure that women can access the information and networks they need to thrive in their endeavors.

A Commitment to Progress

As the Western Balkans strive for EU integration, the insights gained from the Gender Equality Forum will inform future policies and initiatives. Vigan Group remains dedicated to supporting collaborations that benefit not only businesses but also the communities they serve. By focusing on achieving tangible progress, Vigan Group is committed to working towards a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
